Something that Haruhi fans must already know about is “Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou,” which is this big concert for the series where the voice actors/actresses sing the songs from the show and their character CDs

Sean Wong (September 5, 2007)   4 Comments

I titled this a “pre-impression” because I have not actually viewed the movie yet. This is just a perspective on what I’ve seen through the trailers, read about it on the net, and my knowledge of the Evangelion franchise in general.
It is well-known in the anime circles that Evangelion has been a multi-billion dollar […]

Hikaru no Go is a prime example of how good writing can make even the most laughably absurd concepts become incredible works of art.

Cowboy Bebop is a series that needs little introduction. It hit the world with a bang a little less than ten years ago and made its mark as one of the landmark titles of the twenty-first century.

If you’ve been keeping up with anime titles being brought over to the United States in the past year or so, you may have noticed a trend set by some well-known anime companies. Some companies have been licensing and bringing over titles that, while well received by the Japanese anime fan and fansub communities, are risky titles to the overall audience in the United States.

Azumanga Daioh: A Show About Many Things, Mainly Nothing

Sean Wong (May 9, 2007)   3 Comments

One does not purchase a volume of Azumanga Daioh and expect to get a mind-boggling story or plot. Rather, one gets Azumanga Daioh purely for its hilarity. Honestly, if you’ve watched Seinfeld, then you know exactly what “shows about nothing” consist of.
The story, if you can call it that, revolves around this group of high […]
