Even though this show has some questionable animation and character design, I still have a relatively good feeling about it. It reminds me a bit of Getbackers which has really good action in terms of it being suspenseful but also lighthearted. This is by no means a dark series, it’s supposed to be comical with elements of mystery showing human flaws, etc. This episode is very average with the whole back story of Himemiya Ruri being a lonely rich girl who turns into a psychopath due to being abandoned from a very young age. There’s nothing new about this type of back story but it was nonetheless amusing for some reason.

Neuro has his blank eyes “I’m retarded looking” face which is pretty amusing. He’s still a bit over abusive towards Yako but she seems to enjoy it, not that she has any choice in the matter. I suppose one of the things that’s going to hold this show together from being random mysteries per episode is the unsolved mystery of Yako’s father. The show could either reveal that slowly over the whole series, which would make it more interesting but could be harder to do, or they could do one of those “holy crap they fit 50 volumes into 2 episodes” at the end thing. The other “partner” in this little detective assocation, Godai, was more developed in this episode. He’s also a character trope but one that I happen to not be annoyed by, so for now, everyone is tolerable. There’s really not much to say about this show so far, other than the fact that it’s pretty average, slightly humorous and has the potential to continue being…average.

As a side note, I’ve pretty much dropped all of the shows I intended on watching and though I still have hopes for Ghost Hound, I figure it’s one of those things where you actually need to watch it rather than a series like this one, where it’s something to just “relax” to. As for Moyashimon, I’m still interested in watching a few more episodes except for the fact that I can’t really handle any specifically science oriented shows for now.
