A couple of days ago, Gackt’s new PV RETURNER was released. Supposedly, this is all promotion for a long-awaited single from him. I wasn’t expecting much when I started watching the PV but now I now find myself eagerly anticapting his new single along with everybody else.

The song is absolutely wonderful. While it’s a rock song, it is still easy listening for those of us who aren’t hardcore rockers. The beautiful flute in the background is an added plus. Also, Gackt has wonderful vocals that are filled with emotion and slight melancholy. Overall, it is one of the best songs I have heard this year so far. It was that good. I’m hoping for a #1 on the Oricon charts for him. This song deserves it.
The setting for this PV is an ancient battle of samurai in the Feudal Era. It has a gloomy feel with lots of dead and people stabbing each other without the bleeding. Nevertheless it’s high-quality and well done. Though it does seem awkward with Gackt just singing there in the middle while everyone’s trying to slice each other.
While I was kidding about Gackt looking like MJ, he DOES look really scary in this PV. What happened to him? Seriously? I know he used to look girly before but now he just looks like that one freaky assassin dude from the first Azumi movie that got beheaded at the end. This is the one and only turn off for the PV and it took me a while to get used to it. Well anyways, what an awesome PV overall. I need to start listening to more Gackt songs.
P.S: While I’m going to Anime Expo this summer, I’m not gonna see Gackt if it costs me money. I already spent $30 to see the SOS Brigade Concert T_T.
I believe myself~
